Cottage on Lac Gagnon
Only 1 1/2 hrs from Downtown Ottawa
Sorry - Sold Spring 2006

The road is behind a hill, so no dust and you hear no cars, nothing but the breeze through the trees, a few song birds and the water lapping on the shore.

I call this place Sanctuary.

With a poured concrete foundation right on the rock, this place is staying put.

There is a right-of-way on the left side of the property and an empty lot that will not be developed on the right side, so your neighbours are quite a distance away.

If peace and quiet are of paramount importance, this is the place for you.

A beautiful shoreline.

In the morning, when you look out the front windows, this is what you see.

The air is so pure you will sleep better than you have in years.

Lots of space on the side of the cottage to sit and relax. Table with parasol, chairs and BBQ are included.

The lounge chairs are waiting for you.

The lake water leaves your skin soft as a baby. The lake is spring fed and very deep. You can drink right out of the lake. There is a three stage drinking water filter system installed with particle, carbon and UV filters, just to be sure. It tastes better than any bottled water.

Perhaps a dock party is what you had in mind? I think the water is truly magical.

The view from inside is not hard to take.

Lots of space to sit and relax. On the side of the living room, behind a divider, is a sitting area great for reading.

When extra sleeping space is required, the couch opens up into a double bed.

Lots of room at the table. On the upper level you will find a small but fully functional bathroom, the master bedroom with a king sized bed, and the second bedroom with two single beds.

Hot water, stove, fridge and microwave, all the things you need to have a very relaxing break. A 12 cup coffee maker, toaster, plates and glasses, pots, pans and cutlery are all included.

Master bedroom (R) and second bedroom (L) upstairs.

A place to park out of the sun. There is space to park or turn the car around on the far side of the cottage.

This is the lower driveway heading to the cottage from the upper level.

The upper landing has plenty of room for a game of frisbee or take out the croquet set and knock the balls around.

There is a fire pit and lots of wood for evening marshmallow roasts.

You might see a family of ducks swim by.

You can sometimes see deer right on the property.

It is 2kms to the other shore straight across.

Sometimes the lake is very calm.

...Very peaceful.

A particularly beautiful dawn.

This shot was taken just before the lake froze over just after New Year's 2004.

Another beautiful dawn, just before Christmas.

On a clear night, you can see so many stars, you won't believe your eyes.

Lac Gagnon from space.

If you like sailing, this is the lake for you.

It's extra beautiful in the fall.
